About Our Hospital
Welcome to MissionVet Specialty & Emergency! Our highly trained specialists and support staff are devoted to providing the most advanced, compassionate medical care for your pet in collaboration with your family veterinarian. We take pride in not only delivering world class medicine, but also taking time to educate you about your pet’s condition. We know that dealing with pet health issues can be difficult and stressful, so our warm hospital atmosphere and friendly staff will make you feel as comfortable as possible during your visit. Our multidisciplinary hospital was founded in 2012 as a sister hospital of Gulf Coast Veterinary Specialists. Since then, we have grown to become known as a pillar of veterinary emergency and specialty care within San Antonio and South Texas. In 2016, we partnered with Compassion-First Pet Hospitals and are now proud to be part of the NVA Compassion-First network. Our team is comprised of industry leaders, pioneers and board-certified experts who are accelerating the field of veterinary medicine with innovative techniques set to uncompromising standards.

Our goal is to offer the highest standard of care in medical practices, ensuring that our patients receive the best possible treatment. We prioritize strong and clear communication, informing patients about the services we can provide and when it may be necessary to utilize outside medical services. It is important to us to demonstrate the clear value for the cost of our services, ensuring that patients feel they are receiving the best care for their investment. Furthermore, we approach difficult medical decisions and situations with compassion, providing support and understanding to patients and their families during these challenging times.

We support our referring community by providing the highest standard of medical care, timely assistance for referred cases and consultations, guidance towards external medical services when necessary, and educating the referring community through ongoing education programs.
Our support for the larger San Antonio community includes charitable initiatives such as food drives, blanket drives, and blood drives. We also actively partner with and support animal-related organizations such as the San Antonio Zoo, San Antonio Aquarium, and various rescue organizations. Additionally, we contribute to the community by educating the general public on animal health through articles in print and social media, as well as public service announcements.

At MissionVet, we extend our commitment to relieving suffering beyond our clients and patients – we prioritize taking care of our own team members as well. We believe in celebrating achievements collectively and individually, fostering a sense of togetherness through our Engagement Committee and company-wide gatherings. From commemorating birthdays and work anniversaries to applauding significant milestones such as licensing and board certification, we ensure each accomplishment is honored. We also recognize the importance of acknowledging hard work. Our perspective extends beyond conventions, as we explore innovative avenues of support such as scribes, Employee Assistance Programs (EAP), and Client Patient Coordinators (CPCs).
